On his return to Paris, he constantly extolled its charms, exhibiting his canvases in Parisian salons and arousing the curiosity of other artists, painters and writers, before quickly arousing the interest of Parisian high society.
It was during this period that splendid villas, hotels and casinos were built along the seafront.
